New Patient Visits
At Advance Orthodontics, it is very important to us that we provide care that is custom tailored for each individual patient. For most new patients, this process starts with a series of two to three visits.
First Visit: At the initial visit, our Treatment Coordinator will introduce you to our practice. In addition to collecting health history and diagnostic information, she will invite you to discuss your goals for improving your smile and oral health. Dr. Karotkin will then conduct a thorough clinical examination and discuss potential treatment options. Before you leave, the cost of treatment and tentative financial arrangements will be explained. (For this visit, please allow approximately 75 minutes for adults or 1 hour for children and teens.)
Second Visit: If you are ready to continue the process right away, the “records” can sometimes be collected at the first visit. Otherwise, this visit is scheduled for a future date at your convenience. Records consist of impressions (or “molds”) of the teeth, x-rays, and photographs of the face and teeth.
Third Visit: The information collected at the first two visits provides Dr. Karotkin the necessary components to design a treatment plan specifically for you. At the “treatment discussion,” you will be presented with a detailed, step-by-step treatment plan to achieve your objectives. If more than one type of treatment is being considered, we will discuss your options and come to an agreement on the best plan.
