Orthodontics for Children
Did you know that the American Association of Orthodontists recommends bringing your child to the orthodontist starting at age 7? In most cases, this will simply be a “check.” In a small percentage of children, however, some treatment may be recommended in order to detect and prevent problems down the road. Some reasons for early (so-called “Phase I”) treatment can include early loss of one or more baby teeth, a narrow upper jaw, impacted teeth, or an underbite. For children that do require early treatment, Dr. Karotkin designs a treatment plan using minimal appliances to make the treatment as quick, easy, and painless as possible.
